To Celebrate Cosplay & Anime, Crypto Cosplay Token (COT) Organised “JAPANIGHT” Event in the Philippines ~First Event to Fully Utilise “COT Pay” for Crypto-payments~
Cosplay Token (hereinafter referred to as COT), a cryptocurrency which can be used on various Cosplay Token DApps including global cosplay NFT service “Curecos”, worked with OtaCute Philippines Inc., an entity organising otaku events and operating the cosplay community app “Otasuke,” to organise the cosplay club event “JAPANIGHT” in the Philippines on 8th July, 2023 (Saturday), with an aim to allow people to enjoy Japanese anime and cosplay culture.
At Cosplay Token Project, various events are organised with the goal of enhancing the value of COT. The Philippines is one of the countries where marketing efforts are focused due to the high popularity of Japanese anime and cosplay culture, which creates opportunities for investment in related products and support for cosplayers. This event is a club event that combines Japanese cosplay and anime music, aiming to deepen cultural understanding while also encouraging event participants to register for COT wallets.
■About the event
Over 200 anime fans attended “JAPANIGHT,” with approximately half of them participating in the event wearing cosplay costumes.
This event marked the first full-scale introduction of “COT Pay”, enabling various payments using COT. Participants who held COT wallets were able to use COTs for buying food and drinks on-site as well as buying cosplay souvenirs, providing them with an experience of trading in cryptocurrencies.
The venue hosted a cosplay contest and a DJ event with a focus on Japanese anime songs. As a guest DJ invited from Japan, Fumiya, who has over 690,000 followers on SNS, played anime songs, enwrapping the venue in enthusiasm as it reached the climax of excitement.
Furthermore, Sowon, who won the “Sexy Character Contest” held at the venue, was awarded with a prize of 5,000 COTs.

・Guest DJ Misuru
“I am surprised to learn that there are so many cosplayers and anime fans in the Philippines. I was nervous, but everyone welcomed me warmly. I want to continue spreading Japanese pop culture in the Philippines from now on.”
・Hari, Cosplayer from the Philippines
“I participated because I wanted to try using the COTs I received as a prize in the Otasuke app contest, and I was truly moved that I could use it for food, drinks, and souvenirs purchases. I will continue to support Cosplay Token Project in the hope that more places will accept COT Pay.”
Cosplay Token Project has another plan to hold a user-participation event in August where COT Pay can be used. Through online events like “Cosplay to Earn” and offline events, we will strive to make COT more accessible to a wider audience. We will continue to work towards enhancing the value of cosplay and COT in various countries.

■About Cosplay Token Project
By utilising blockchain technology, Cosplay Token Project aims at expanding cosplay token service with a mission to create new values for global cosplay communities.
COTs can hitherto be earned by uploading photos to the website of “Curecos”. It is expected that the demand for COTs would be huge for cosplayers with significant numbers of fans and countries where the penetration rates of credit cards remain low.
The project aims for not just in-site COT circulation but also its circulation at thousands of events organised around the world.
